Do you remember the funny dancing bear, that steals honey and the picnic of the rancher?! Yes, it`s true, Yogi the bear returns, but in cartoons. He will be subject of a video series of games. Finally I can breathe easily that my future children is offered a positive educative leisure in front of the console.
The part with educative purpose can be criticized by some parents. Yogi steals things, although he does it for amusement, and this can somehow influence badly the children to borrow things without returning. I can understand this part and I hope that the upcoming game will “sweeten” Yogi`s vocation for doing his caprice. Anyhow, Yogi is delightful in his adventure of borrowing sweets and food, he looks more similar to pregnant wishful lady than to a bear from the woods.
There`s not much time elapsed since the movie inspired from Yogi was released as teaser trailer for fans and family. “Yogi Bear” featuring Justin Timberlake in the team is scheduled to appear on December 17. I can bet that I know I`m going to watch this Christmas: the new version of Yogi in 3D. He looks realistic and the funny situations in which he gets involved are so numerous, that you will hardly stop your laughing. Let me give you some short examples: falling from the roof, getting thrown in the face with a pie or having to climb in the train, which is already on the run.
This year, D3Publisher Inks Worldwide and Warner Bros. shook hands for a video game inspired from Yogi. Some game editors haven`t welcome very well the piece of news. After the movie was shot in 3D, it was like a sort of game. Probably Warner Bros. is looking for much success, probably they are quite in love with this story of childhood. Either way, it`s decided: the game will appear this December, so prepared your consoled for a wood and rush for sweets` experience or “Go Yogi”, if I`m allowed to use this official slogan of the previous creation.
“Yogi Bear: The video game” will be available for Wii and Nintendo DS, for the beginning. The voices are almost the same from the movie and the characters conserved their appealing, so you won`t be feeling too strange to enter in the shoes of any avatar.
The plot of the game is simple and very funny. Jellystone Park, the home of Yogi, is to be closed. You can imagine that our dancing bear won`t accept this without a bear-to-man fighting. As a player you will have to jump, crawl, slide on your belly, sneak and God knows what other strange things. Next to Boo Boo, your little bear friend, you will fulfill your mission and which is much important, you will manage to steal a little bit from Ranger Smith`s picnic, which is always so delicious and his face so angry, seeing what you have done.
The idea of producers, at which I submit, is that Yogi series will render together parents and children into a joy mood.
I basically grew watching Yogy and the ranger fighting over picnic baskets. I would love my kids to grow up with the same cartoons that I grew up with, or least enjoy the games if this is not possible. We will always remember characters like Yogy, Tom, Jerry, Snoopy, Bugs or the Pink Panther.
