“Get Recent Comment” is a widget that allows you to see the recent comments of your readers, no matter the article that they read in a box, or if the comments are too long, you will see only excerpts of them or trackbacks in the sidebar. You can format the sidebar the way you want so that it will display the comments as you want. For example, if you have a Featured section on your site, you can set that the comments related to this section to be showed first and only after that to be showed the other comments related to the other articles, which are in different categories, not on Featured.
You can customize the features of this plugin available from WordPress the way you want, because it is created for your benefit. You will have the control over their appearance on your pages. You can set the plugin to appear on your home page or on other pages as well. Taking into account that this refers to all of your pages you must set the plugin to run only on the main page. I don’t know exactly if the plugin allows you to see the comments when you enter a certain category of articles. Probably, if there is not yet such functionality, it will be released soon in the future.
