Ways To Make A Site To Load More Quickly

I have read an article related to this subject two hours ago, but I wanted to emphasize a thing here.

Look in your browser in the location, where you write the name of the site that you want to see or read. You will see sites like www.google.com and www.othersites.com, where othersites represent the other names of the sites which you have stored on your browser. Look at their termination. Of course, you will not see something like that, but with http:// in front of their domain name, even in front of www. But here I am talking about their terminations. You will see the extension of the page that your browser just loaded which is .html, .php, .asp and others. I am not speaking about those sites, because they are loaded fast enough to not require explanations today.

I am talking about the other sites where you do not see the extensions aforementioned. Those sites look something like this: http://www.thenameofthesite.com/about/. This is a classic example of a site name. This means that you are on that Website, on the page which is called “About”. The site browser will not show the upper case letters, even if in the article, they might be written in upper case letters. At least the first letter of the word should be written this way. I have never seen a title to be written only in lower case letters.

What I want to emphasize here is a discussion which I started in my previous article, related to how to optimise a site to load faster. You can by doing some things that are very easy and very useful for you and for your readers, because if you have satisfied readers, than you will be happy as well, since your blog will attract traffic.

So, to do this, you have to place a slash after every name of the post in your HTML or PHP codes. You must not let the name of the site looking something like this. …..com/about. After “about” you have to place the slash. In this way, the browser will know what site to find on the Internet, even if it is on that site (it doesn’t know that). So, when you are on a site and you want to go to the Contact page, you will press only on Contact. If the browser sees no slash, first of all, it will add the slash to the name of the site and only after that, it will start to look for the site among the millions and millions of sites on the Internet. You can see this by watching the whole process on your broswer, in the location where the names of the sites are.

And now, let’s speak about the height and the width tags. Don’t forget to insert them into your codes, because they will reduce also the time taken by the browser to show a picture. Because the browser sees no size for a certain image, it will show it taking into account the default settings. Then the image could look disastrous on your screen, because you might have a netbook that will show the images differently than a desktop computer and so on. Try to avoid those things and try to make the browser to think as little as it can, by providing all the necessary information. This doesn’t mean that you have to write almost all the HTML codes that you know into the page, because this is another reason for which a page could load with difficulty.
