If I started speaking about Apple, let`s see what has prepared Valve for the new season. If this name is somehow unfamiliar to you, I have to remind you that Valve is the company that created the legendary “Counterstrike”.
Apple and Mac prepared a GL code. I had the same dilemma as you: what does a GL code mean? Well, the official information I gathered related to this topic is that a GL code refers to checking and controlling for company`s budget.
In media, I guess that GL code refers to a partnership, a sort of co-branding, positive for both the parts implied in the business. This is the case of the team formed by Valve and Apple, together they managed to create a sales boom on games. How?!- Valve brought games titles to Mac via Steam, and Apple strongly advertise the game company with every product sold.
Much more, Valve plans to make an exclusive game for Mac. Surprised?! You shouldn`t, as the majority of Valve`s creations are played on Mac, so it`s quite normal to thank one of your partners, but still there`s a question hovering in the air: what will happen with the users of Microsoft? Will they accept that Valve isn`t anymore dedicated to the them too?
Valve was created in 1996 as a game company, but soon it passed over this main function and created online gaming technologies. Steam¸ as common as it appears, is one of Valve`s creation and promises to maintain its title of premier and high-quality online gaming platform. To make an idea about this pioneering and never aging platform, think that it manages more than 1 000 games to a online community, that reached even 25 millions of players around the world.
Besides the famous “Counterstrike”, Valve produces the following games, that you have probably played even once: “Half-Life”, “Day of Defeat”, “Team fortress”, “Portal” or “Left 4 dead”. For the next year Valve will launch “Portal 2”, a sequel that will make history. The androids and the super-technology, that is brought to life, leaves you the impression of true movement.
Steam is probably the most exhaustive online platform at this moment. Visiting its official page, I could recognize almost of the games that passed through our eyes during the reviews posted on this blog. “Call of duty”, “Battlefied”, “Transformers”, “Alien Swarm”, “Monkey Island”, “Kane and Lynch” or “Worms”, they are all available for online gamers.
The prices are a little bit expensive, between 20-40 EUR, but if you are patient enough to browse the catalogue, you will find some games with discounts. Titles as “The Guild II: Renaissance” isn`t that known as “Transformer” for example, but the discount of 10% will make it much comfortable for your pocket.
