Continental, the company that manufactures tires, has done a study in the UK to discover which are the most annoying passengers. One in five drivers prefer to go alone because of them.
The British did a study on a sample of four million drivers and discovered who are the most annoying ten passengers. One in five drivers said he was so stressed at one point that he asked the annoying passenger to get out from the vehicle to be able to drive quietly. According to this study, the most annoying passengers are those who give indications about the driving or the so-called “the right drivers”.
Let’s see what are the other nine types of annoying passengers. From the facts that make the “right driver” from normal passenger into a source of stress we can enumerate hitting the board, commenting about the speed or about how the driver takes the turns and other similar discussion about driving issues.
In second place comes the passenger that cannot help but wander to the radio or to press various buttons of the car. The third place belongs to the passenger which is always right in a discussion, regardless of topic. This individual tends to eat nerves and cause dangerous situations if the driver gets easily angry at the wheel. The fourth place belongs to the sleepy passenger who fall asleep within minutes after the car started on a journey, often in a longer shift.

The drivers are bothered by this behavior and are likely to fall asleep by themselves too at the wheel because of lack of interaction with the passenger on the right and also because some of the passengers tend to snore during sleep.
On the other hand, too much interaction is not good, say some drivers. Thus, the passenger who speaks constantly get ranked fifth among the most annoying travel partners. The sixth are the aggressive passengers, who feel the need to fidget and try to resolve conflicts with drivers of the vehicles around the car in which they are with obscene gestures that are prejudice ultimately the driver of the care where they are.
On the seventh position we find the passengers who feel the need to keep the window open throughout the trip or the need to have a special air temperature in the vehicle. In the same category fall also the passengers who smoke without asking the permission from the driver.

With or without GPS, the eighth passenger that comes now always knows a shortcut and tries to guide the driver on the road only he knows. These passengers are the most annoying after convincing the driver to deviate from the route and by mistaking the way with another when looking for a shortcut. The ninth place is held by the passenger with special needs, namely the passenger who always need to go to… the toilet. Frequent stops are stressful for the driver, especially if the traffic is busy. Surprisingly, the least annoying of the top passengers is the one that is used to sing along with the performers from the radio.
