I have discovered a site which is very good, who inspired me to write the following article about how to use Twitter, in a very effective way. I know that i have written posts about Twitter and about how to use this micro-blogging network, but this evening’s article is going to be a bit different from the ones presented until now, because I am not going to say how to enter the site, how to write your name, what kind of password to choose and other things like that. Today I will write about tips for using effectively this network. Effective means profitable. You should attract visitors, yes, but if they do not know where to visit you, how come will you present the advantages of using your site?
If you have a business called in a specific way, you can create the name of your Twitter page by using the same name, if it is known or by creating a new name, a name that is able to attract the people that are interested in a certain aspect or topic. If you have a company called Lisa Ltd, you simply cannot create a page named Lisa (the page probably exists already) to attract visitors to sell the products that your company sells. If you say something like this: twitter.com/lisa, then no one will suspect that this page is in fact the page of a company which sells towels. You have to write the name in a different manner, for example twitter.com/soft.towels or anything else. It came to my mind another expression, but it could be interpreted as sexual and you could attract other kind of people, not the ones that want to buy towels. I thought at twitter.com/soft.caresses.
The hash tags on Twitter can be used to make conversations with your friends, not to promote your articles or business. For example, if you see that the trending word is Diana, you should link to that word, only if you have written about someone called Diana. You could be named Diana and your blog post to be related to you. If there is no other name next to Diana, you are free to place the tweet on that channel. Still, it is not recommended to lie in your tweets. You cannot direct the people to read about Lady Diana’s life, if the article is related only to yourself. And even if you wrote the “Lady Diana” expression in your post, this doesn’t count. You should write the entire article about Diana, not use only a single word for it.
The hash tags can be found if you use the Twitter Search feature. Add an # and then write the keyword in which you are interested. The tags that contain that word will appear in an instant. Everytime when you use a # sign, the word that follows immediately after this sign creates a hash tag and it will be highlightened as a link. In fact, it is transformed into a link. So, the strategy could include this. If you cannot find the proper tag that will suit you well, you can create it. Just make sure to make your friends aware that you have a new post connected to that tag. This is the correct wy, not to enter and see what are the trending words and connect your post to a trending word, even if the post has nothing to do with the trending word.
The article which I presented at the beginning of my own article says that there are certain periods of time in which the Twitter network functions at its maximum capabilities in terms of promoting Websites. At the middle of the week it is the most effective time to send tweets. This is why because most people on their lunch break decide to check their tweets and perhaps personal e-mails. We have a very busy life and even our own life has to be organized, otherwise we could lose important things in it. So, you have to use Twitter to post tweets that you hope will bring more visitors on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, at 1pm Pacific Time, it is considered to be the most effective time to send tweets. A lot of users tend to check their Twitter account and their personal e-mail when they head out home, even if they are still at the office. Some do this while they are at the office and some on their way home. People today can use their smartphones also to check the latest tweets of their friends, so you can check the tweets even if you are at the subway.
Don’t repeat the tweets you have already said on Twitter. Ok, do it once or twice, but don’t make this a habbit. If you see that a post receives many visitors, it is considered good by them and you can push the limit and tweet it more often on Twitter, but in other occasions, you can limit to up to 5 times in different days.
