I read an article on telegraoh.co.uk, which I spotted when I read the previous article, which was our source for the Online Anonymity story. This new article refers to the fact that the face of the Internet is changing, because more and more people are using RSS readers, selecting news channels, according to their preferences. They use these readers and the information comes on those platforms, so that the user sees the latest news when he enters them, or the information comes on the user’s e-mail, depending on the initial settings.
You have probably noticed that the browsers changed a bit in a few last years, because right now, when you are typing a letter in your browser, the sites which have been accessed lately start to appear. They appear there according to the date of use and also according to the letters which follow the first letter, used by yourself to search a Website. For example, if your settings refer to finding a site based on the number of times you entered the site, and you click F, if you have Facebook and Free Online Games as popular sites where you have previously entered, and you enter more on FOG, you will see how this site appears before Facebook, even though “a”, the second letter of Facebook is in the alphabet ahead of “r” which is the second letter in “free”.
Of course, this depends on other algorithms as well. If you are interested in how your browser works, you can enter the main page of the browser and see if you can find answers there.
But let’s go back to our story. It appears that the Internet is transformed into a place where everybody is searching for something: they search for news (mostly), for jobs, for people, events, pets, jewelry, and many other things. This revolution in my opionion was started by the search engines, now most of those who use the Internet having their homepage, the main page of a search engine, such as Google, Bing, Yahoo. There are also others who have Facebook or Twitter as their homepages, because of their need to communicate.
At the South by Southwest Interactive conference, which was held in Austin, Texas, one year ago, it was mentioned that the networks and platforms of all kinds will soon be more important than Websites.
