To play Text Twist 2, you realise that you must know English. If you don’t, here’s your chance to learn some new words. I don’t know exactly if these words are going to help you in the conversational English, all I know is that is a bonus for you, simply because you get to learn some new words, or to use the words you already know in English. If you don’t have a printed dictionary around you, you can enter an online dictionary site. This could help you a lot even if you are a native English speaker. Trust me. Let’s see what are the game levels and how to play the game.
First of all, you get to choose from a timed version of this game and an untimed one. There are some words provided by the game and you have to form letters from those words. You must find the bingo word, which is the word that contains all the letters provided by the game, to move on to the next round or next level. If you manage to find all the words that can be formed with those letters, you will earn extar points. There are named bonus points.
When you think you have formed a word, you have to click the Enter button to announce the computer you’re ready. If what you have found there is an actual word, it will be counted as a word and it will be erased from the words that you can find from the memory of the game, to make sure that the game won’t consider the word as not found by you and it will not offer the bonus points, if you manage to find all the words in the game.
You can use the Twist button which is present next to the Enter button to switch the letters. The letters will be those letters and not others. But they will be grouped in other combinations that might help you to get an idea of a new word. I said that to get to the next round, you have to find the bingo word. But what happens if you simply cannot find the bingo word? Will you not be able to move on to the next level? Sure you will. You have to press the Pass button and simply move on to the next round. But you have a limited option to do that; only two passes in a game. Sorry, guys, you really must use your heads in this game. It is not a skill game, where you need to be attentive with the left button of the mouse to catch stars, like the game I presented two hours ago. This game doesn’t look like “Tigsy and the Stars”, that’s for sure. That was a skill game, not a word game like this one.
You may also use some keys from the keyboard in order to switch the letters or enter the word. For example, to switch the letters, you may use the spacebar. To enter the word, you have to use the… Enter key. For entering the letters in their available spaces, you may click directly on those letters from your keyboard. Backspace removes the last letter and Delete clear all letters you entered until then.
Besides the timed and untimed versions of the game, you can choose from Word of the Day, Lightning and Crossword. I will go with the first version, Word of the Day and if I will have time, I will present the rest of the modes in this article as well, if not, in another one.
Unfortunately, the game in the browser version doesn’t let you to play those three versions of which I have spoken earlier. So I have selected only the timed version and the game opened a new window for me. Luckily this window works. So, for the other three versions, you must download the game.
The timed version offers you hard words, and I have to admit that only a few of those words were known by me. The untimed version, besides the fact that doesn’t stress you with the pressure of the time, helps you with easy words that can be formed even by the little ones. There are more vowels here and the consonants that are provided by the game can be used in more words, like the consonants provided in the timed mode. Overall, a good game, too bad that some versions are available only in the downloaded variant. I guess I have to download this game too, to tell you more about it, but only after I will play Bejeweled 3, as I promised.
