Batman paid us a visit in a recent review, Spiderman couldn`t miss the meeting with critics. Peter Parker is indeed my favorite hero from cartoons and I might sound too subjective, but I have to admit that he isn`t genial. There are some features, that didn`t convince me in his story, but for the sake of our common profession in journalism, I declare him to be charming hero in game industry.
Why Shattered Dimensions?! Stan Lee, the creator of Spiderman will explain you in detail what`s going on with the hero in 2010. As far as I could see, our acrobatic hero will have four avatars! One is the classical blue and red suit, the second one resembles much with Venom`s suit, but the eyes are more prominent; the third one has a savage allure, twinning the red and blue of the suit and the last one reminding you 100% of Venom`s appealing. Stan Lee characterizes them as four different universes of Spiderman`s evolution: Noir, Amazing, Ultimate and 2099. We can understand which color goes for the black period of our hero, but how can we distinguish which one is dedicated to the other periods?! An aspect that hasn`t been translated, as far as I remember.
As usual, Marvel will produce the latest sequel due to appear in this September. “Shattered Dimensions” is meant to be a third-person action game, able to take your breath away with any scene performed by the acrobat hero.
The graphics are spectacular, the backgrounds updated to the last technology, so there`s no worry about risking your money on this game, if you decide to pre-order the version from the site.
In the first chapter dedicated to the red and blue Spiderman (the Amazing phase), you will be enrolled into a mission of eliminating the Chaos. The backgrounds present Mayan or Aztec temples, so be ready to combine the adventure with some touch of mysticism. You have to find fragments of old maps, in order to restore the order of Universe.
The second phase, according to the black suit with strange appealing is dedicated to a world of future, you would do at first sight. In fact it`s about New York City during 1930s and the best friend of our character is the shadow of the night. This Spiderman has to fight against criminals of the night. The backgrounds are nocturnal and a little bit gothic, so you will inevitably remember of Batman series.
A Spiderman flying without his webs?! Yes, it`s true in the third version of the shattered dimensions. Here Spiderman is in the middle of a hi-tech world and he is “enhanced” to fight against the most agile criminals. The acrobat hero of the 2099s isn`t yet uncovered, so visit Marvels` site to find out the hottest details.
The last avatar of Spiderman is Venom, of course. Positive hero need their negative nature from time to time. Which one will conquer the mind of Peter Parker in the end, it`s up to you to find by playing this version of the game.
