While most other companies have been boasting new products throughout the last couple of weeks, Samsung appeared to be sitting quietly in a corner also preparing for a new release. Today, the company has introduced a whole series of products and services, and they’re going make all the other gadgetry baring other brands seem really really small. The market leader in consumer electronics is now selling a whole bunch of blue-ray players including the world’s first portable Blu-ray player with 3D capabilities, the BD-C8000.
The BD-C8000 delivers true 1080p HD video and allows 3D playback when it’s connected to a 3D capable TV and used with 3D glasses. The player features a 10.3 inch screen, WiFi and HDMI 1.4a support. It also offers about three hours of battery life which is more than enough to seriously consider taking it out of the house for trips. Along with this remarkable product Samsung is also introducing three standalone Blue-ray players as well as three new Blue-ray Home Theater Systems offering crystal-clear picture and sound quality.
“Blu-ray has raised the bar for video and audio quality that consumers expect to see at home. We led the way in 3D TVs and are excited to do the same for 3D Blu-ray players and Home Theater Systems. With the industry’s broadest line-up of 3D capable home entertainment products, there is a product to suit every home and wallet,” said John Revie, senior vice president of Home Entertainment at Samsung Electronics America Inc.
So let’s take them in no particular order. The BD-C7900 was designed to offer the best HD experience possible. It features two HDMI outputs through which the user can connect multiple HD sources for a full HD picture and digital surround sound experience. Other features include WiFi and Samsung’s proprietary AllShare (allowing users to sync digital devices and view movies, photos or listen to music straight from a PC, camera or mobile phone on a Samsung TV). Samsung’s BD-C6800 also includes WiFi and AllShare and is meant to be a middle-of-the-road Blue-ray player. Finally, the entry-level BD-C5900 delivers the latest Blue-ray technology for an affordable price.
The estimated price tags of the four Blue-ray players are as follows: BD-C8000 $499.99, BD-C7900 $399.99, BD-C6800 $279.99 and BD-C5900 $229.99.
Along with other releases of several exciting home theater systems dubbed HT-C995W, HT-C6900W and HT-C6600 Samsung is also introducing the world’s largest 3D Led TV for home, UN65C8000, a 65-inch monster that still manages to include a relatively sleek design. The TV features Samsung’s built-in 3D processors, Real 240H refresh rate technology, dynamic 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio as well as proprietary Precision Dimming technology. On top of that Samsung’s TV is WiFi ready and supports Skype via Samsung apps which means the user can turn the TV into a huge video screen for calls. The TV should become available this month and has an estimated price of $5999.99. Three more plasma TV’s that were initially scheduled for a July release will also be made available this month for somewhat more affordable prices.
