Most movies seem to come from Hollywood and if they don’t at least they come from some place in the US. But there are lots of other very good movies that are made in other countries like Mexico , India and all the European countries. They may be a bit different, but they do exist. And, no matter where the movie was made, it is viewed by people all over the world. It is important for these people to understand what they watch, so producers or distributors of those movies normally use subtitles or dubbing. But subtitles are also used for a special category of people: the hearing impaired ones. They can see the images very well, but they can’t hear the words, so there are special subtitles for them which tell everything, starting with all the lyrics in a song playing in the background, to the sound of someone clearing his throat or trying to find his words (“Erm”), etc. There are dots that are used when the actor makes a pause in speakingĀ and also words that describe eventual sounds in the background (dog barking, someone knocking at the door). Well, these transcripts may be disturbing for a normal person, one who has no problems with their hearing. So they will try to remove the supplementary characters and keep only the subtitles. That is exactly what Transcript Annotations Cleaner 1.5.0.2 does.
This software application is developed by Chaos INC , has 446 KB and is compatible with all versions of Windows. It does exactly the opposite of transcript annotations, that is it removes the unnecessary parts, the ones that were destined only for those with hearing problems. The application is able to read .ass files, but it is also able to convert them into .srt files. For starters Transcript Annotations Cleaner 1.5.0.2 will automatically remove the names that appear in front of each dialogue line. Then it will remove all the songs that are present in the transcript, keeping the lyrics only if you want them.
You only need to have Microsoft Framework .NET 3.5 SP1 installed, which is very easy, since it is included in Windows 7. Just download the application as freeware and use it whenever you needĀ it and this way you will be able to edit the transcript annotations in batch or single with a very good result. Another important feature is the constant updating and the fact that , after each update, the application preserves all the settings, as they are saved in “My documents”.
