Looking for a game to keep your mind in tension?! Maybe a puzzle game will be just perfect for you. I`ve come across on a sort of game based on puzzle, but still being more than a puzzle game. Does it sound tempting?! “Puzzle Quest” managed to survive and now it`s proud to launch its second sequel.
If you peek on their official site, you won`t find that much information about the game. In the trailer, producers praise themselves to have created the world`s greatest puzzle adventure, but sincerely I don`t find it that brilliant.
Indeed, there`s a new and attractive combinations of puzzle type and fantasy fights, so you can say that “Puzzle Quest” is a sort of “World of Warcraft”, with the slight difference that here you don`t have to kill anybody by throwing spells on your enemies. The only rule that is applied is to follow attentively the rows of figures on your puzzle board, the more you score in a short time, the more treasures you will receive.
Your puzzle board will be crowded with fantasy creatures and powerful weapons. For the second sequel, Infinite Interactive, offers you new features for a better and more attractive experience: new mana gems plus new spells, new characters, third person exploration and finally the possibility to play the game in team with your friends.
In order to be more explicite, it looks that you will play the role of mighty fighter, who is on his way to defend a dreadful demon, called Gorgon, who has invaded the peaceful village of Verloren. You can choose your skills from a larger class of heroes, such as Sorcerer, Templar, Barbarian or Assassin. Each time you will gain a new level in your puzzle board, you will be rewarded with a narrative episode, in which you are being told what you have done and how much your talents got improved. For some of you this breakage will seem boring, but probably in time you will find it relaxing, as you have enough time to relax your hands and prepare for the next quest of puzzles.
The difference, comparing with the first sequel, seem to be deep and numerous: a puzzle adventure with a purpose, more active elements for a handy usage on the spot, vivid fantasy background, progression of characters, constant rewards for your efforts, escaping the mundane (pieces of arts or new stylish gems to be used), or online game experience.
Although it`s considered to be a mild fantasy game, pay attention to violence scenes and mild language and keep your children away from computer.
Unless you aren`t bothered by the 2D format, be ready to enter the adventure proposed by “Puzzle Quest 2”. The combination of puzzle, attacking enemies during pause will certainly keep your attention up. The game received positive critics since the first sequel for captivating and accessible journey type, so don`t worry about its quality. Although it seems to be an easy game, you will see that each level up will put you in trouble to master the game play.
