I am not sure exactly if this article is supposed to be in this category, because I am going to speak about Word, which is installed automatically when you install the operating system coming from Microsoft Windows. But anyway, if you don’t like Word, you can use other text editors, which have a pattern that is very helpful when you write online articles or essays.
I wanted to discuss today with you about essays, because this is a huge opportunity for those who write online and apparently there are a few those who actually make money out of it. Now everyone creates articles and leaves the novels and essays, which 20 years ago were written and read without blinking.
Before you attempt to write an article or a novel online or a paper support, you should be able to write coherent paragraphs. Each paragraph should contribute to the whole development of your article. If you say one thing at the beginning and start speaking of another thing two lines below, then your reader might get confused.
In a paragraph, each piece of information should be developed around a certain theme. For example, if you write about pure water, try to use those words inside that paragraph, in order to place a higher importance on those words. A paragraph can present an idea, a fact, an analogy to other stories or other facts related by you or by your character and so on. Also, a paragraph can contain ideas about how a situation might have been, could contain comments of the narrator and pieces of evidence. You need to summarize those ideas in order to make the content pleasant for the eyes of your readers.
When you start writing the essay, you have to wonder yourself what are your knowledge in that field and what can you tell the persons that read your article. What can you tell them, beside what they already know? Because today with all these technologies and information, the people who stay online, are very much informed. Why do they need to enter your site and read your blog, your article? Because you write creative articles, essays, you write good poems, you draw nice, you do something that delights your readers, that’s why. Try to keep your readers close to you.
When you write an article, include pros and cons about the topic of you write. No one will believe you if you always tell them: “Wow, how great is this phone from X”. You have to come up with a disadvantage or something, to make the story more believable. If you don’t find anything on the phone (it is perfect, which is hard to believe), you could tell that the site of the company has a boring interface and if you want to ask for support on that site, it is more difficult to do that, due to that interface. Or something like this.
Use examples as you write. People will believe you more if you do that. For example a person that says he was paid by a certain site for reading e-mails, would better present some evidence that this actually happened. Your own opinions are very important to the readers, since they come daily to read your blog. Be a friendly person, as friendly as you can be, if you write online. You can add the name of your Facebook account or Twitter account, in this way, you can stay connected to your readers if you want.
Organize your notes, so that ideas will flow logically. Connect simple ideas to more complex ones and take the reader from cause to effect and from facts to illustrations. Choose a great title, it has to be catchy and to summarize the content. But I haven’t presented any text editors yet that can be downloaded. Ok, here they are: of course Notepad + + is the first one, followed by Emacs. You can also use TextMate if you run a MacBook and UltraEdit for Windows.
