Haven’t you always wanted to install the operating system more quickly and without headaches? nLite is a free program that allows the selection of the programs that you do not to install along with your OS, but allows bringing the installation kit to present (the kit that contains updates, hotfixes sites, patches or the latest service pack ). So after you create the installation image and install the OS, you will no longer need the old update, the uninstallation of unwanted programs (arrived with Windows), the long settings and registry configuration or installation issues (all of these preferences may be specified using nLite).
To be able to apply the nLite settings, you must have Windows installation CD for the original files and for. NET Framework 2.0 installed. To start the changes, open nLite and click where the original version of the OS is.
The program will take you to a window with which you can modify the categories: Service Pack, Hotfixes, Add-ons and Update Packs, Options, Drivers, Components, Unattended,Tweaks, Bootable ISO, select only what interests you in terms of changing and then you will have to choose what you will change or add (depending on preference).
After configuration you will be able to create an ISO image which you can then copy onto a CD / DVD.
Why is it useful? With nLite you can remove programs that you will never use (Internet Games), but you can add add-ons to the basic installation. nLite will allow the configuration of the installation setup even before the actual installation. Thus you can specify your Serial Key, the region where you live, what file to be considered systemroot etc. Last but not least, you can add drivers to be installed simultaneously with Windows.
nLite supports the following operating systems: Windows 2000, XP (x64/x86) and Windows 2003 x64/x86).
