PCWorld announced today that a 4G Nexus S smartphone and a 3D EVO one are expected to be announced at the event that Sprint has scheduled on March 22. PCWorld also said that the rumour came from a tipster which reports to Engadget. The conference should last about two hours and a half and during it, besides the two phones that are to be presented, there is another surprise: a new tablet, called EVO View.
The only things that the tipster was able to tell Engadget was that the Nexus S smartphone is very much similar to Nexus S, the only difference being that it support 4G network. The characteristics of the existing Nexus S smartphone include a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, two cameras, one facing front and another on the rear of the device, 16 GB free space on the hard drive and 1 GHz processor. The manufacturer of this phone is of course Samsung. Right now, the operating system comes from Google and it is Android 2.3. We are not told if the operating system will be maintained, but most likely it will not be, since Android runs currently a new version, which is Android 3.0, also known Honeycomb.
The other phone, which is expected to be presented by Sprint, the EVO 3D phone is similar to EVO 4G, created by HTC. EVO 4G introduced some new characteristics at the time it was launched, like a big screen for the device and also a front facing camera, for an improved video chat experience. As you all know, some other smartphones have since then followed the steps of HTC, by introducing a front facing camera as well, for their devices.
And on the third level, is going to be presented the new tablet, which is reported to be a variant of HTC Flyer. You can tell by the fact that these are only rumour, that you can’t be sure that Sprint will release any of these things, but all we can be sure is that Sprint is going to present something big at the conference in a few weeks.
