New product Nokia Series

Nokia C Series” is the latest range of phones produced by the Finnish manufacturer. In it are found both devices that remind us of mobile technologies in the early 2000s and smartphones that cover all current communication. The product arrived in tests, Nokia C5, can be found in the middle “ranking” as numbering (0 for entry level, 9 for high end), but the Symbian platform drags it slightly in the upper half. Constructively, Nokia C5 has a classic candybar form, with no special elements. It has dimensions of 112 x 46 x 12.3 mm, weighs 89 grams and is pretty good rennet, less battery cover which is not fixed but move a little tight in the vertical plane when you solicit it.

Access to the memory card can be done easy, by raising the cap that covers it, positioned on the right side. Also, positioned on the right are the volume keys; while top is dedicated loading jack, microUSB port site and the audio jack of 3.5 mm. On the back, you’ll find the stereo speakers and 3.2 megapixel camera lenses. Under the lid hides a Li-Ion 1050 mAh battery and SIM card slot. To insert the card, it is necessary to remove the battery. Frontal area is occupied by a 2.2 inch QVGA screen, secondary camera for video calls, alphanumeric keyboard and navigation pad.

The keyboard is spacious, comfortable. Maybe just “Home” and “Delete” keys “can create small problems, because they are quite narrow. Talking about hardware, Nokia C5 boasts an ARM11 processor clocked at 600 MHz, perfect to ideally direct the Symbian 9.3 S60 rel 3.2 platform- the latest iteration of Nokia smartphones non-touch. We recommend storing information to the microSD card, because Nokia C5 has only 50 MB internal, and they are required to receive files via Bluetooth and temporary downloads.

Other C5’s facilities are HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth with A2DP profile, stereo FM radio and GPS receiver. Also, C5 has some shortcomings: Wi-Fi and accelerometer. Should not be blamed for it, eventually is one of the cheapest smartphones on the market. And nowadays, HSDPA involves decent speed for web browsing at affordable prices, often the WI-FI being forgotten. The only case when we feel really lack Wi-Fi, is outside the country. Few people allow the pricing plans specific data roaming, while are used to practice serious traffic. On the software side, we have already established applications (Ovi Maps, Music Player, Office, Email, YouTube, etc…), plus the new “trend” of social networking: Facebook, Friendster, Hi5 and MySpace. Multimedia segment is the audio module and photo / video camera. If the music sounds great (which makes us recommend all music lovers Nokia C5), the C5 is far from ideal photo: camera has no autofocus, the sensor captures little details and images have a pronounced sound. But for occasional pictures without claims and for MMs, C5 is great.

GPS is the same as the one integrated on models in the business series (E52, E55, E71 etc…) and all associated applications are running smoothly. Autonomy revolves around three or four days, which is good. Overall, Nokia C5 accomplishes all its tasks successfully. For the price of about 200 euros, what this phone has to offer hangs much harder. Who decides to buy it will probably be delighted.

Nokia C5 Back

I’ll end this article regarding Nokia C5, offering you a brief about C5 advantages: excellent processing power for Symbian 9.3 S60 rel 3.2; HSDPA connectivity; you can rely on GPS; impeccable sound quality; integration of social sites and good Autonomy. As you already could notice, there are also few disadvantages: small screen (2.2 inches); does not have Wi-Fi and accelerometer.
