New Facebook App: VoIP Services Included

Crisp App developed a new application for Facebook which combines the use of Facebook with the use of the Voip services, which for some, are present daily in their activities.

The applications wants to add to the existing chat service of Facebook, this new feature, that allows users to talk using their Voip accounts and this will happen for free. When you enter the Facebook page of yours, if you are online in the chat, you will see your online friends, that are using the chat right now or simply waiting to talk to someone. I, for example, I don’t use the chat on Facebook, simply because I don’t have enough time to chat with my friends and I am always offline, even if I enter pretty often on this site. Anyway, when you enter the page, you have to move to the chat section and click that you want to be online, if you’re not, or click on a friend’s name, to talk to him. If your friend is using his computer, he will directed by Facebook towards a link where he can speak to you via a Flash-based Voip application.

If the friend of yours is using Facebook on his mobile phone, a smartphone that is, he must use the Facebook application that allows him to talk to you via Voip, because in other conditions you will only be able to send text messages one to another. The messenger from Facebook lets you insert photos and browse through the messages history, use emoticons and receive instant replies via Push Notification, as it is said on PC World today.

Crisp App reported that they will soon introduce paid plans, so that their users to be able to call to regular numbers, not only to people that use Facebook. This application which is available on Facebook can be used for 3 dollars and if you want to install it on a device which runs Mac systems, you must have iOS 3.1.2 or a later edition. The voice chat with your friends on Facebook performed using this application are free of charge.

The application is only available right now for iPhone and iPod Touch. The application is available for buying in the Apple Store and the price of it is exactly 2.99 dollars. You can read more about it on the Apple site, the iTunes store or on crispapp.com. So, now with only 3 dollars, you can have this application on your iPhone. I don’t understand how exactly the users which don’t use the application on their phones could use it, but I guess you don’t have to since you are at a computer, when someone calls you or you are simply using your phone. It is interesting to see what happens when you have an iPhone and your friend doesn’t even have a smartphone. I wonder if those two can communicate. You can learn the answer to this if you enter the site I mentioned earlier. If you can’t find the answer to this question, I will provide you later.
