The throne of this week was disputed between “N.O.V.A HD” and “Civilization Revolution”. The first one is a game focused on a futurist war, the last one proposes you to rebuild ancient civilizations. Personally, I expected that “N.O.V.A HD ” to be voted as first game of the week, as we are leaving in a ascendant trend of science-fiction creations, but somehow “Civilization Revolution” overcame it.
“N.O.V.A HD” is the abbreviation of Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, produced by Gameloft. Compared with another sci-fi action game, “Halo”, it manages to stay different thanks to some personal features such as: simpler and intuitive controls, shooter essentials with weapon selection, reloading mechanism, supplementary grenades, higher visuals and voice acting, all making the game experience more realistic.
Comparing the price with the creation offered and the storage requirement, you can say that`s a good deal. So, for 7$ you will download a customized game of almost 170 MB, available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese or Spanish. The game is rated 12+, so be sure that a child under this age won`t ever grab your iPad and play it. “N.O.V.A HD” has elements of fantasy violence.
The general word present in players` reviews is “awesome”. Now you can understand why some of them are disappointed by the fact that “N.O.V.A HD” didn`t manage to be number one. Players appreciated the more realistic experience, due to the bigger screen, customized controls, extremely fun feature or sufficient number of levels. Comparing with the other games, on which players complaint about the high price, in the case of “N.O.V.A HD” they would have paid gladly even 10$.
The plot of “N.O.V.A HD” is somehow familiar to you: mankind in danger, an exhausted planet Earth and dreadful aliens, who hunt the mankind. Our hero in this game is a retired Navy soldier, Kal Wardin, who received the difficult mission of saving the last men in the world from a people of aggressive aliens, named Judgers. The game extracted its name from the last mankind`s environment: huge artificial satellites, on which people have to live.
Technically, the game will conquer your attention either you play in single campaigns or together with three of your friends, via Wi-fi. Note that using Bluetooth, just two additional player can be received into your mission.
If you choose to fight alone for mankind`s future, you will have to pass over 13 levels placed into the jungle, winter background, spaceships, bunkers or in the middle of a very alien city. For each of these options, 3D effects are rendered with high detailed graphics. Your most powerful weapons will be, besides the plasma guns and the grenades, assault or sniper rifle, handgun, shotgun or rocket launcher.
