I did a reseacrch on Facebook and I have found out that not only those who have personal or professional account on this social network do mistakes. Also, those who post ads on Facebook do it, so I have selected a few that could even make you laugh, not mentioning that you must not do the same, if you will ever post an ad on Facebook.
The first mistake that is done here is the one in which the author of the ad writes everything or almost everything in capital letters. So, not only the title of the ad, but also the small text which is written in the ad is written with capital letters. This is not like yelling at someone, because some of the words capitalise only their first letter.
Even if you write a single word in capital letters is considered wrong. In this situation, we encounter an ad that says: “When you need HELP, you can always count on US”. They are not saying in which field we can count on them, they simply say that we can count on them. That’s a good thing. We can count on someone. We don’t know actually what they do, but we can count on them. Good job.
Another mistake is to write the entire ad in small letters or to use fonts that no one has ever heard of. It is wrong to spell the words incorrectly. And when you think that many people do this just to attract a certain category of people, you don’t know what tot believe anymore. Is this world mad about advertising? Do we really have to make advertising like this? I guess we can find other ways too. I mean I can’t explain how come a guy which is English and knows very well English could write words in an incorrect way. Maybe he was in a hurry when he did that ad, but common, you have to verify yourself when you post an ad. It should be better to ask someone to look for grammar mistakes in your ad, not to simply post an ad and wait for orders from your potential clients.
Also, don’t use slang words or expresions, because your message might not reach those interested in the product. They might be interested in buying hats, but if you use a word that is known only by yourself and your friends, no one will ever click on the ad to see if you have hats and if sell them.
Some of the ads present on Facebook have a text that not always expresses what the owner of the site wants. For example, if the owner wants his site to be visited by those who want to buy pets for their apartments, they can say “Visit our store where you can find your companion” and present a picture with a dog, cat, mouse, whatever. Not just post an image of a mouse and say Visit out store. I don’t get it from this image. Do you sell mice, do you sell traps for them, what do you sell, do you write articles about them? Do you provide clothes for them, use them in contests? I don’t know what to believe when I see the image of a mouse with a short written text, like this one. you better be exact in expression, when you post ads on Facebook.
