Mistakes To Avoid When Blogging

There are many mistakes that can be avoided by those who start a blog. today I will name a few of them and in my future articles I will create a top out of them, based on your comments as well. You are invited thus to tell us what do you think it is the biggest mistake that you did when you started your blogging adventure.

The problogger.net site explains some of the most important mistakes that are made when you start writing. The first mistake is when the blogger quits too soon. The blogs need a certain time to evolve, to gather readers, to attract visitors and so on. If you place ads on your blog, this could determine you to quit blogging even sooner, because when you see that you don’t have any benefits at all from using a blogging platform or another, you will want to quit those time-consuming activities.

Nothing more wrong. You have to offer you a bit of time. Let’s say six months at least to make the blog running. A blog will not bring benefits from the first moment when it is launched. You need to invest at least time, if not money as well, to be able to obtain some benefits after a while.

This can happen when you use a free service that allows you to host your blog. If you use a paid service, you will be determined, at least by the fact that you are paying some money there, to write a post every day or at a certain period of time. This will not necessarily bring you visitors, unless you are pretty popular in the real life and tell your friends that you have a new blog or a blog. You may start a new blog or transform an old one, upgrade it. Or you can simply start a blog from scratch.

Those who have already Websites can link their old Websites to the new blog and vice-versa to transfer a bit of the traffic to the new blog. But what happens with those who do not have any blog at all? How can they be successful online? By hard work. They have to write every day and they must get involved in this process, because if they simply copy and paste the articles from one source or many sources to their blog, they will never reach the success. Not mentioning that this is illegal.

I know that you want to post as many information as you can on your first page or home page, but try to put yourself in the shoes of the visitors. Do they like to see thousands of links and images and videos and a page that seems to never end when scrolling down? No, this is not the image of the site that you want to create. That image should be the image of a simple site, with a few links and with a big picture that should represent you. In my opinion, the Google page is the best page I have ever seen. And you know what page rank this page has? If you don’t know, I’ll tell you: 10. Yes, you can say this is normal, because we are talking about Google, but in fact this can happen to every page, if you just respect your readers and give them what they need in a proper manner. I entered yesterday on a site, I won’t give you the name, because I am ashamed of myself because I entered the site, hoping to find something useful. I have to admit that the guy that deals with the site has very good knowledge of SEO, because the site appeared first in my search.

But when I entered the site, there was no information about how to use the site, no sitemap of course, no contact information, nothing. There were a lof of links, which transported you to other sites, probably owned by the same character. I wish you never enter sites like these. Ever. I spent a little more time on the site, not because I liked the site, but because I was shocked that there are sites like these that don’t provide any information for which they appeared in the search lists. I tried to find that keyword after which I made my search, but it was in vain, because the word wasn’t there. Or it was, just very well hidden.

Another mistake that you should avoid is to talk about things that everybody is talking. Try to create a unique site, a site like no other. And remember the rules above. The character about which I discussed had a site like no other, there is no doubt about it. Just try to make the site memorable in a good way, not a bad way. I simply cannot understand how sites that have a very good content are not read by visitors and sites that have NOTHING to say, nothing at all, are one of them at the top of the sites regrading the X subject, the Y subject and so on.

Another mistake related to the one mentioned before is to think that only your content will attract the visitors. It is not true. You will have to hire a good programmer, a good Web designer (they can be the same person), a SEO specialist and so on. You should write a good content, that is correct, but also these features has to be developed if you want to be successful. By using your site on WordPress or Blogger, this will add you a bit of advantages, because the sites hosted on this platform are very rapidly indexed by Google.

A mistake that can and cannot be considered a true mistake is to not work on your own domain. If you have read my previous article, where I said that on the free WP blogs, you cannot place Google AdSense, you know what I am talking about. You can try to use a free blog when you are at the start of your career as a blogger, but as soon as you advance and you know all the features of these platforms, you can select a paid service. When you use your blog on a free platform, usually you don’t benefit of much information to start the blog, to troubleshoot the computer when something is not working correctly or to solve other problems that might occur. This situation changes when you pay for a domain. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule: WordPress and Blogger, which have an outstanding Support center.
