Might & Magic Heroes VI
“Might and Magic”, although might sound a little bit unfamiliar for some us (including me, I have to admit it), it`s a veteran in game industry. Some of game editors compare it with “World of Warcraft”, others said that World of Warcraft itself descends from the old Might and Magic. All in all, the opinions are divided, but I can assure you that the two games are very similar as plot and as artworks, the only thing that tends to separate them, is the slow graphic of Might and Magic. You will have in both of them mighty heroes, dealing to defend humanity against dark forces, the belief in the power of wizard and a medieval background.
The piece of news about Might & Magic is that the last sequel, called “Heroes VI”, will be launched for PC too, after a long tradition of console gaming.
If you like medieval wizard stuff, you should try it for sure, it won`t make you regret the money spent. In this sequel, named VI, the plot starts surprisingly, 400 years before the event in the predecessor, Heroes V. It`s quite illogical, but I guess producers had a strong reason to develop an turn- back episode. I remember that even George Lucas did this for “Star Wars”, when he felt that he could improve the image and special effects in some sequels, so it`s not that uncommon.
In “Might and Magic Heroes VI ”, Angels are revived in order to fulfill an unfinished war. Demon invasion is still close, people of Ashan are once again separated into parties, so there was the need of an uniting leader, in the person of an Archangel general. He was killed during the war of the Elder races, but he returned to life for this precise purpose.
Ubisoft tried to give a modernist touch to the game, so players will benefit of better graphics and online community interface. The characters that made history will be preserved, but the producers will also include secondary characters for a more tense plot. Believe it or not, the game survived 20 years on game market, which is a record.
The history began in 1996, as a series of computer role-playing game, at that time created by New World Computing. In the years to come, the game changed more teams of producers, until Ubisoft bought it for $1,3 millions and “rebooted”. As a statics, each year brought a new sequel, fact that makes me understand that the game was really beloved among fans.
Each sequel develops a small part of the fantasy plot, so you won`t ever get bored of playing it. Another important fact is that the game offers you more than 10 hours of game play, which is another hot point, although at one moment in time, you will feel a sensation of déjà vu, fighting against similar giant rats, dragons or zombies. There`s a strange thing about the game: you will see a medieval décor, but the narrative voice will tell you a story about planets overseen by a travelling race, called the Ancients.
