Malwarebytes Anti – Malware is available in 2 versions: a free one and a full one that costs $24.96. The difference between the two is that the full one offers real time protection, while the free one doesn’t.
Malwarebytes Anti – Malware allows the user to decide the malware programs that will be deleted, will be put into quarantine or ignore them if the user believes the program or application is not dangerous. It includes an additional tool “Fileassassin”, utility that can be used to remove any type of file infected in case you cannot delete it by other methods. It also cleanes infected keys from the Windows registry, files and even viruses active in memory, managing thus to find what often an ordinary anti-virus can’t.

Malwarebytes Anti – Malware it’s not an antivirus. Firstly this program doesn’t offer real time protection (commercial version does) and secondly it’s oriented / specialized on malware. With the free version it’s obvious that you are responsible for the updating of definitions (third tab, “Update”, click on “Check for updates”) and you must explicitly ask the scanning process (first tab). I don’t see this as something very difficult as long as you use it accidentally, for the situations where you have a suspicious or infected computer.
In this newest version that you can download it from here, it was improved the heuristic method to detect the newest versions of Rogues and spyware, the icon from systray turns gray when the protection is off (for the full version). Alongside SUPERAntiSpyware it’s basically the first line of defense against viruses. I recommend it before you reinstall Windows or make major changes on your computer.
