Invention and technical innovations

- As chips have changed the world -

Looking back in 1971. China enters the United Nations. Those of 18 years acquire the right to vote in the U.S.A “computer, whereas a-chip” which is quite small and quite cheap to get into a business tool, a toy, an appliance, a tool – in short anything that has a vague connection with electricity.
Since then the world is no longer the same.
Today, thanks to microprocessors that have followed Intel’s 4004 in 1971, we are more informed, more efficient and, in an obscure, even less privacy than 25 years ago. As microprocessors have become so much part of our lives, the real challenge is finding enough machines around that are not in any way controlled by a computer. Small and relatively inexpensive computers made it possible to trace virtually any human activity, any process analysis and control of any mechanism.

Celebrating the twenty-anniversary of the microprocessor, do not forget that these computers just processed data: knowledge is something else. Finance Directorate can run dozens of computer financial models, all people will decide whether interest rates will rise or fall. Similarly, years of research in artificial intelligence have produced algorithms that can accommodate the defined situations, but only humans have the ability to understand and jolly.
I present below some of the big changes in our world caused by microprocessors. All shows an indisputable fact: all the impact of microprocessors on our world is a speck of time. The revolution continues.

In the past, private documents were protected as well as somewhere you could take closed. Today electronic encryption protects the information on disk drive so that only authorized persons can read the data.
But encryption also creates the possibility that some criminals to conceal important evidence electronically. The federal law requiring U.S. officials want to introduce a plan for everyone to give a copy of all encryption keys Government, which will keep secret, unless it is necessary to read encrypted data. After these officials, the threat of encryption is so serious that the U.S. government should continue to fight and export of encryption technology outside its borders.
Encryption will also ensure and support a widespread electronic commerce, which could give consumers unlimited access to a global market. This is no less true that our privacy will be assaulted by credit card companies, banks and others who can easily to build up detailed files on our way to spend. For example, the employers may explicitly refuse to hire smokers because of the possible cost of social assistance for them …

Every computer tomograms (CT) in hospitals saves lives by illustrating the three-dimensional world of interior body. Microprocessor is not the only type that computer can solve math required to build these 3D images, but they are responsible for the recent proliferation of CT scanners.
CT machines ran started with minicomputers that were expensive and difficult to maintain, but the new scanners use workstations to process peak muscle. For example, nuclear medicine Picker (Highland Heights, OH) with a team of its scanners Ardent Titan 1500 minicomputer, minicomputer which won 32 MFLOPS peak performance. Today, the company uses an Alpha workstation from Digital Equipment with a microprocessor that can generate over 133 MFLOPS Floating-command performance.
These workstations are also ultra-optimized graphics, allowing real-time manipulation of three-dimensional imaging to help assess health doctor or affect any organ by disease.
And perhaps most importantly, microprocessors have reduced cost and size of these CT machines, making them more available today in various parts of the world. CT examination centers are already present in many urban areas.

News was once something that came down to us through a handful of media vehicles as a daily prayer down the mountain. The Internet has inverted mountain. Today almost anyone can become a journalist, and some of the latest news and views various arrive today by Electronic Storage or e-mail lists.
Most major newspapers have responded by blending of traditional printed information products on their Web sites. Reporters now receive email correspondence from segments broader and more diverse sources in order to edit topics. When New York Times in early 1996, launched an exploratory campaign for a week on downsizing in America, has sponsored conferences on its own Web site. Elizabeth Osder, publisher content developer, said that the print edition included citations simply electronic discussion and information items that have appeared later that week. The group also set up Microsoft with NBC News concerns a similar mixture of TV news and information Web sites to spread.
However, in printed publications will not disappear soon. The Web is good for conferences, research or random collection of information, but newspapers and magazines are still more convenient to read and easy to browse. The paper has an excellent bandwidth.
The internet has changed incredibly much communication between people. For example, even in these days takes place on the internet game “Kasparov against the world” (Kasparov vs. THE WORLD). Anyone can suggest any move.                 This is chosen to move to 24 hours after meeting the most votes. The game began on June 21, 1999 with Kasparov’s move to e4. First move “the world” was at C5.
