The bike does not come for free along with the application. MapMyFitness is the developer of the application and if you had an account on mapmyride.com, you can sync the info you had stored on that account with the newest application and in the same time update of this app. The aspplication makes a tracking of your cycling efforts and it will not leave the efforts unrewarded, because you will feel more and more motivated each day to compete with yourself in order to beat your own records. For example, you can set to burn a certain number of calories or to run with your bike a certain number of km.
The app uses the GPS technology, so that when you will get on your bike, the smartphone will know from where you have started your race and where have you reached. In this way, the system will measure your distance, the average speed and other statistics.
