Readomattic is a tool developed by WordPress, which allows you to stay updated with your friends’ posts. In other words, your can read your favorite blog posts and also browse through your favorite blogs from your Dashboard. It is very similat to an RSS feeder.
To see the blogs and the posts, you have to edit the subscriptions, just like you do on Facebook with your friends. But this time, you have to edit the subscription or simply said subscribe to a certain blog or to a certain person, that manages more blogs. This is like on YouTube, you can subscribe to that person that shows the most interesting videos, in your opinion or you can subscribe to a channel that presents information about a certain person, celebrity, event, product and so on.
On Facebook, you have to request for someone’s friendship and only after you will get his or her friendship, you will be able to see what that person is writing on his or her wall. When it comes to pages on Facebook, and not to persons, you simply have to click Like and you will receive all the information that you want from that page. Just make sure not to click on too many pages, because if you are really interested in one specific page, you might lose yourself when you enter your Facebook account and see in your news feed all sort of information from many, many pages that you “Liked” during the time, since you have the Facebook account.
This is similar also on Readomattic. If you like too many blogs or too many persons, you might want to lose a whole day and the night after to read all the posts, and remember while you are reading many more are written. In this way, you will need more lives to read the content. You can add more pages or blogs in your Readomattic tool and read only the ones that are attractive by title, by tags, by the pictures they use and so on.
If you like very much how a certain person writes, you can start your day by reading what that person said this morning or yesterday evening. You can subscribe to the Top Posts on WordPress, which are posts that are extremely popular. Also, you can use the Tags to subscribe. I have already said that if you are interested in carrots and you have a blog about how to grow and plant carrots, you can subscribe to that tag. In this way, you will see all the posts and blogs that contain this word in their content. Attention, the word will be contained in the content, not only in the title, in fact the title might not even contain the word. So, the possibilities of reading articles that contain this word are virtually unlimited.
If you want to subscribe to blogs, you can do this by adding Blogs to Readomattic. Twitter can be present into Readomattic also. Add Twitter streams into your Readomattic tool and see what the buzz is about at a certain moment in time.
If you have subscribed to many posts and blogs, you can limit the number of the posts by clicking on the option that lets you see only the posts published in a certain period of time. In my next article related to WordPress, I will show you how to use Jabber and first of all, I will tell what Jabber is all about. Stay connected and keep blogging!
