The disassembling of a computer is an easy task, as long as you know something about computers and you know how to protect them against the… static electricity, let’s say. If when you touch a metal piece, you may feel some vibrations on your hand, thanks to the static electricity of which I have spoken before, this electricity could kill a chip on your motherboard, memory, processor and other component on your computer. This is why, if you want to see how a computer looks on the inside, you better attend to some classes where you can find the answer. I know that Apple organizes this kind of workshops. Unfortunately, they do this only in the United States, as I read somewhere, so if you live in another part of this world, you have to enter the Internet and see if you can find a workshop help by Apple online.
When a computer user knows a bit what is inside a computer and has computing knowledge, the he will not be surprised when he will see what’s inside a computer. But another problem might rise: that person might want to work on his computer, when the moment will come, to insert a new memory chip, to remove the battery and replace it with another and so on.
If the computer is still under the warranty period, and a problem occurs which can’t be solved by this untrained “specialist”, who owns the computer, then the computer will lose the warranty offered by the manufacturer and any operation which will be performed by an actual specialist on the computer, will be paid by the owner.
Before starting the disassembling process, you have to know that all the devices that are connected to the computer have to be disconnected and all the wires that enter the computer as well. The computer has to be turned off, it should not be plugged into a wall power source and the battery should not be inside it. If you have gone to a class where you have seen the main parts when disassembling a computer, don’t start to think that you should do this just like you have seen, because most likely you have seen those operations performed on another type of computer, not a computer just like your own.
After you remove the battery, remove the material that holds the keyboard stable, but not before taking out the screws with a small screwdriver. They hold the keyboard in position. Below the keyboard, usually it’s a metal plate, which protect liquids to arrive to the main board. The keyboard can be removed easily if you know how to handle it. You should push it forward and after that pry it up. In the upper part of the keyboard, there is a connector which is related to the display. Make sure you remove it or depending on the computer, you disconnect the connector as you can. Don’t cut any wire there. with your fingers, pry the bezel of the display and slowly pry this off too. Now you can see what is behind the keyboard and behind the display as well. Take that metal plate out of there and see the motherboard and the processor in all their splendor. The reassembling process is backwards.
