You all know already that you can use a large number of mobile devices such as mobile cell phones, portable music players, portable multimedia players, and many more. to listen music everywhere. I am not telling you to do something illegal such as pirating audio CDs. You may have bought already the album you liked or the favorite audio book, but you have to stick to the old method of listening them on CD/DVD players. This is great when you need to listen to them in your car or at home, but when you need to travel, or during your jogging exercises you need something smaller that is lightweight and that it has a large storage capacity so you can take all the audio files you need. Then you need to convert the large pile of audio CDs into something more easy to use.
The simplest method to convert audio CD into a format that can be used on mobile devices is to use Windows media player. This multimedia player has a lot of capabilities hidden under his hood. Beginner users usually tend to search for expensive software that in the end does the same thing as media player.

When you convert an audio CD with media player, by default you will save the resulting files as Wav. This is a file format used by Microsoft Windows. This format takes a lot of space on your hard drive. Of course a bunch of audio files can’t put too much stress on the available free space on your hard drive, but they tend to use a lot of resources when played.
You need a solution to reduce the size of Wav file. This can be done from the beginning if your Media Player allows saving to other file formats. Even with mp3′s many people can’t find the right combination of settings to produce files that have a small size on the disk. When you use Windows Media Player to do so you can select rip audio right from the pop up menu when you insert the CD. This normal riping can produce large files.

You can use freeware programs such as Super to re encode the file into the format you need. This application has a simple to use interface that will allow you to export the output file into the most common file types. The only downside when you need to convert the file into a ringtone is that you cannot select only some portion of it for the conversion.
For this you can use Audacity that is a very powerful freeware application for editing audio files. Here you can import any audio file and work on it. You can insert multiple files and mix them. You can also remove noise, enhance the sound, change the pitch of the sound, or you can clip just one portion of the audio file to use it as a ringtone.
You already know that you can use any ringtone you like on the large majority of cell phones. This way you can listen your favorite tune when someone is calling you.
