How To Create Links In A Website

In this tutorial, we will discuss about how to create links in an HTML frame.

The links should be set carefully. Thus, you can place some links in the html1 framework, that will modify the navigation through the site. For this, you will replace the original draft document html1 a new one containing links to other pages of the same site. If you know a bit of information technology, you should know that the parameter is determining the target. It determines where the content will be loaded when clicking the selected link.

This is where the names that have been assigned, define the frame. In addition to the names chosen for your frames, there are some special values. Some frames load within the same frame of reference from where they were called. The previous framework disappears, being replaced by the new one, as the user ordered.

A good method is to load the frame in another page. So, the surfer will get to a browser window without divisions. It is mandatory when you list a link to an external Website. The tag “_parent” loads the document in the window that previously defined the frameset. This target presents interest when there are embedded several frames, but the design will be confusing. Another value is “_blank”. It binds to a new window. The browser will open a new page, which will be the document. This is the one of which we have spoken already. But beware! If you open too many windows on the desktop, you will get only criticism.

The homepage of a site is the most important and its navigation should be simple, as browsing is important too. The homepages with more than two documents to go to are very simple indeed and they are probably created by amateurs. There are Websites that have hundreds of pages and because of this, your readers will wander through the pages, or content not finding the homepage anymore. They should definitely have to have a way to come back to Home by pressing the Home.

Before you launch a Website, you need to check the structure. There are two versions: a star-shaped structure for small sites and large construction in the form of a tree. The star-shaped structures place in the spotlight the entry page, then start from this to all other pages. The construction of hierarchical tree structure reminds somehow of your hard drive structure. From the homepage, the links go to the next level, just like the subdirectories on your hard drive. Each level contains its own theme and characteristics. This type of construction is necessary, for example, when you want to enter text in an archive network.
The main focus should be given by the entry page. It must take into consideration the links to other pages. When working with sites with more levels, is enough to put links to the next level. The homepage should always be accessible, like the SATA drive. If you have multiple subordinate levels, is necessary, in addition, to add a link to access the next levels. In smaller sites, this hierarchical structure can be modified. In addition to the links present on the homepage, there can be introduced into the concept of navigation some links to each individual page.

The navigation elements must be very visible and always must be placed in the same area of each page. When working with Websites based on frames, place all the links in an individual frame. But if you do not use the frames, set the navigational elements at the top and bottom of each document. They must be identified in terms of appearance next to the content. In this regard, according to your designer’s talent, is enough to include a horizontal line, a color or graphics. This creates a navigation bar that will be recognized by the surfer on each individual page.

If you need more links, include two navigation bars: one at the top of the page and one on the left, next to the document: the top bar will contain links or identical sites that are included on all pages, for example, reference to homepage, a search box or a feedback page. On the left side, the users will find links to other documents or sublevels of the site.

If you appreciate your time or want a more modest design, it is ideal to use a text navigation bar. The hyperlinks will emphasize your connection to other Websites and pages. All the links, for example, can be positioned on a single line. Broken lines in the source code ensures the placement of a space between the links. The last link is very useful, therefore you should not miss on any site you create or own.

“Mailto” tag uses the e-mail client of the surfer, where your address appears instantly in the field “To”. In this way, the surfer has the opportunity to address you directly from your own page, without searching for your address. The navigation bar is separated from the rest of the document by a horizontal line. It can be aligned to the left or right.
