Heavy rain is one of those games that keep the player entertained from the beginning until the end.
It starts off like a typically American movie showing the life of an ordinary family man and slowly builds up to the main plot.
The original thing about this game is the movie atmosphere attached to it and the simple fact that the user is interacting with the main characters by pressing simple buttons or combinations.
Another great thing about the game is the fact that there are so many possibilities of playing each scene, that the user will want to play the game again and again, in order to discover all the other ways around the game. The characters are very well made, each one of them has a strong personality and the graphic design is very realistic. For a comparison, the game has in the extras section, clips with real actors that have participated on the making of the game. The resemblance with the ingame characters is excellent. The ingame camera is sometimes annoying, but through the game, the players should get used to it and learn it’s mechanics.
This game is opened to all audiences, it’s easy to play, it doesn’t require high skill from the user, except for some parts where the player realizes he could use an extra finger or two to struggle with the controller. However, the title supports the PS3 move device which makes things easier and more fun. The sound effects, ambiance and music are very well made. The background music changes along with the action or the character’s feelings, which creates tension keeping the player on the edge of the seat.
Overall, Heavy Rain is a unique experience that Sony has produced and it is a must have in every PS3 owner collection.
