GitHub Social Coding Review

Facebook is using GitHub to share the code with their developers, so if you have an application that is eager to attract some users, you should first register, test it and wait for it to be approved. You can post the application on Facebook and start promoting it until it gets approved. You should have a phone number or a credit card number posted on your profile, to be sure that your app is going to be approved.

GitHub is a site that allows the users to share the codes and to see what is going on in the codebase. It is like a forum destined to developers who want to post applications on Facebook. The most important application that is discussed about on the GitHub site is obviously the JavaScript SDK plugin, which is based on the SDK open source technology, that allows the users on Facebook to create apps and to test them before they will hit the Facebook marketplace.

If you use this SDK and find bugs, you are requested to file them and send the message on the site mentioned above. The site maintains a changelog and everytime the program gets updated, you will see this if you enter the site. GitHub is a free open source, but it offers some pricing plans for those who want more. For example, for Micro companies, you have to pay $7 a month to benefit of the services delivered by this site and for medium companies, you are going to pay $22 a month. There are other types of plans as well. There is the bronze business plan, the silver, the gold and the platinum business plan. To get you an idea, the last one costs $200 a month. All the plans, being they free or paid, come with an e-mail support, with SSL protection, with downloads, pages and the setup is free for all of them.
