Gem Craft, even it can be considered from the title, a game where you are supposed to match three or more items, it is in fact a tower defense game, where you need to create some gems and then place them in their special locations which are already drawn on the board. You benefit of many, many levels, which you can to choose. Besides protecting yourself with the gems that you can create with the help of the tools present on the right part of the screen, you can also build water trenches which will help you and also towers to increase the efficiency of your killings.
The game is not recommended to children in my opinion. There are also other tower defense games which are more pleasant to the eyes of a child. In this game, you will see little creatures that appear on your screen, which might scare the children. From 10 years old or so, the game is good to be played, because at that age, the children can realise that this is a game and no one gets killed in this game.
You can combine the gems, after creating them and you are also able to see the health of the enemies, that you have to kill. You can create bombs that will eliminate them faster and also switch from one level to another without too much difficulty. Overall, I can say that this game is alright, but I prefer the tower defense games which are more colored. This game is grey. The good thing is that you can stop the music, if you are bothered by it. When you play three or four games a day in order to review them, trust me, you can get bored rapidly by the sounds in a game. The sounds made by the game, when the gems are firing towards the enemies, cannot be disabled, but they are not annoying and you can do anything else while you watch the battle on the screen. The game doesn’t require your permanent attention. If you know that you created enough towers and positioned many gems that could attack the enemies, then you can listen to music or do anything you want. The music, by the way, can be listened to the same computer, because this is a game which can be played in the browser, without requiring you to download the game into your hard drive.
At the end of every level, you will see how many enemies you killed, how many gems you have created and combined. Depending on the level, you will see other statistics as well. You will see also how many towers you have built and how many bombs you have thrown on your enemies. Some of the enemies require you to create bombs and to place them on your enemies, because the towers might not face the danger. You can create a bomb, if you have gems created in the right part of the screen. Just click on the button that says “Create a bomb” and after that click on one gem which is in your inventory. Then drag the bomb over the enemy you want to kill. It is so simple. The instructions are also provided at the beginning of the game.
