Symantec has launched 2011 Generation for its Security Norton products: Norton AntiVirus 2011 and Norton Internet Security 2011. For the latter, you can have free license for 300 days. Here are the “novelties” introduced by these products (the list will be filled as the information arises on the official site). For the moment, we’ll discuss about New graphics interface, Performance Monitoring and Download Intelligence 2.0.
Performance Monitoring is a new component. Provides alerts with information based on application performance. If an application consumes too many resources: CPU, RAM, writes more data onto hard disk, or visit too many programs, Norton will alert you about these things. Download Intelligence was introduced for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox in Norton 2010. This year a support has added for many other applications (or portals) used for downloads.
Let’s see what other novelties Norton provides. We’ll continue with Reputation Scam and Norton Bootable Recovery Tool Wizard. Reputation Scan is a new feature for Holmes. It extends the facilities offered by File Insight and Norton Insight in NIS / NAV 2010 products. Reputation Scan allows the user to gather information on the reputation of a file in any directory specified by him. On the other hand, Bootable Norton Recovery Tool Wizard will create a bootable update utility that you can scan your computer outside of the Windows operating system. This utility can be used to create a bootable disk to a CD, DVD or USB.
