The American group Dell increased the offer for the takeover of the storage provider 3PAR data at 1.6 billion dollars from 1.15 billion dollars, the price is slightly higher than the one proposed by the rival Hewlett-Packard. Dell’s new offer, of $ 24.3 per share is 30 cents higher than the price submitted by Hewlett-Packard.
Dell said in a statement that the management of 3PAR has accepted the improved offer. 3PAR shares fell 1% in the Pre-opening before the U.S. stock market; the market reaction suggests that some investors expect the “war” between Dell and Hewlett-Packard to continue. Hewlett-Packard and Dell are using acquisitions to enter segments that generate higher margins than PCs.
On August 15, Dell had at 3PAR a 33% stake. Dell is an electronics manufacturer, that designs not only computers, but also other type of devices. Many years they used accessories from other companies, such as batteries from Sony, but after they have had several problems with the batteries overheating and causing damages, they started to manufacture their own batteries and accessories. This doesn’t exclude the collaboration with other companies.

Dell recalled many times computers back to the factory or organised repair points in their repair centers, that’s why now they address mostly to their own technicians and their own production department.
