I don`t deny from the start the possibility that EA is in the middle of some financial troubles. They have launched so many games this year (“Battlefield”, “Need for speed world”, “APB”, “Alice: Madness returns” or “Sims 3”) and it`s very normal to say: “we are tired, let`s have some breath”. Although, “Crysis 2 ” was one of their ace of base, it could have brought much profit than even “Battlefield”. A strange decision indeed! I think that they have chosen to launch the product in the beginning of next year, for the simple fact that this autumn and December are assaulted by new products, especially games (if you remember from my previous article Yogi bear will be also launched at the end of the year). So, it`s quite wise to delay an important launch for January and February than to lose potential profit.
The trailer posted on the official site of EA will convince you as it did for me, that the game deserves all attention, although it takes again the story of Apocalypse and aliens.
The players find themselves in a far-away New York, terrified by alien invaders, which crawl all over the streets, which destroyed the buildings and now are menacing the last survivors of mankind. You will hardly recognize New York, is ruined and dusty, but it`s a realistic background, thanks God you aren`t placed on a distant planet.
New York has three powerful enemies: the cruel weather, plus an epidemic and the aliens, that returned to take their revenge. Mankind faces a series of climatic disasters and it`s on the verge of total disaster. The last soldiers are sent to fight against the bloody aliens, they die with their grenades in their hands in order to stop with one centimeter the invasion. It`s something of majestic and in the same time, of scary to see this Death`s spectacle.
The mankind`s hope lays in one super soldier- that beefy cyborg alike soldiers that gathers from the sand an old picture. It`s a very sensitive image, super technology embodied by this soldier, still remembers the good times, the times of mankind. Probably you won`t find this scene too touchy, but for me it tells everything about the game.
Our hero is anonymous and probably this has to raise you some questions about producers` direction. He wears a Nanosuit, a sort of scooter of the future and from the angry movement of his hands, the tension of his muscle, you can understand that he is led by one thought: revenge.
“Crysis 2” is a first-person shooter game after all, but this feature won`t refrain your inciting gaming. The upcoming creation of EA and Crytek will be launched for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.11
