Bring Your Content To Life

Here are a few tios about how to make your content to be alive. This is also a way to add more traffic to your site and to increase the visibility of your site.

The rules are simple, you just need to obey them and to play by the rules of others (see the search engines). The pieces of advice are presented on the WordPress site, on the support section.

Everybody has a few friends. If they haven’t entered your site yet, thus they haven’t subscribed to your newsletter, nor to your RSS feed, you can send them e-mails everytime you post a new article. Just make sure not to bug them. Ok, in this case, you can send them notifications at every 2 or 3 articles you write, if you write 20 posts a day. I can’t imagine how can you write 20 posts a day, but who knows, if your post has only 200 words, then it can be possible.

Comment on other blogs. If you comment on other wordpressers blogs, they will come and check out your blog as well. Just make sure, once again, to comment using nice words. If you comment on another WordPress blog, you will be seen as that person who has that site, so your site can be visited after this without any problem. But if you like to participate in forums and other sort of discussion, you may create a signature and everytime you comment on a blog to use that signature. In it, you can include your name and the name of your site you manage or the site where you write along with your friends.

Try not to comment in forums that deal, for example, with subjects related to carrots, if you write about advertising. Enter a forum related to the subject used normally by you when you write articles.

Use the links to increase the visibility of your site and let people know that you post there. Use a form of RSS feed and let your users know that you have published a new article. The recommended advice in this case is to send e-mails to your friends or to those who subscribe to your newsletter only once a month or something like this, because otherwise you may be considered as spam. Maybe your friends will not throw your name into the trash box, but the strangers might do this, if you sent then newsletters once a day.

Use between 5 and 10 tags after you write an article. Don’t use too many tags, nor too few. It is recommended to not add tags, if you can’t find any tag that would suit the article. The same thinking method applies to the use of many tags. It is not recommended to use more than 10 tags, because it is less likely that your post will be listed in the WordPress tag listings. And let’s face it, do you really have 30 tags that are relevant to your content? If the content has 1000 words, you might find tags that are suitable to be mentioned, but 30? Common… Not even if you write an article of 10000 words, you should not place 30 tags for your content. 20 tags for a long content is possible, 21 is possible also, but more than 30 I don’t think so and, plus, it is not recommended.
