Do you think that you are good at what you do? Maybe you are. Why not share the knowledge with us, the ones who do not know much of a subject? Do you like to travel and recently you’ve been to Marocco. Tell us your impressions from there, how good the food was, how were the people and stuff like these?
If you normally work as a travel agent, you could write books if you would want this, books that will ensure you a good life, the rest of your life in fact. This is a mistake which is done by those who don’t start a blog for various reasons. They are perhaps busy with what they do every day, that is why they leave the blogging for someone else. The number one mistake of today is this: to not start blogging when you have something to say.
The mistake number two is to think that you know too much, thus you should create a lot of categories and blogs. You could not know everything about so many subjects; you cannot write about boats, blogging, aircrafts, pencils, surgery and smartphones and be very good at it. You simply can’t. You must have a formation right? Your profession could be engineer and your hobbies can be gardening and music. You can write about your favorite artists on your blog related to their music and you can write about gardening on a separate blog or on the same blog, but in another category. You can name the category “My Hobbies” or “My Passions”. You should not write about gardening in a category where you only write about your favorite singer.
So, don’t think you are an expert on so many topics, because no one is. You must have millions of lives to be able to say that you are very good at this, very good at that and you write about those things like an expert. You can use your personal knowledge and your personal touch when you write, but let’s be honest, when you start to write about things like new applications, new operating systems used on smartphones, the newest album released in the Buddha Bar world, you must know something extra than other regular readers know. You must not only read one article or two to make an opinion about the latest album. You must listen to that album, you have to read about other people’s opinion, and here I am not talking about regular guys like you or me, but about important persons in the music industry, and you have to form your opinion and write it in a unique way. Don’t copy anyone, not only the content, but not even the style. If you copy the style of an important journalist or blogger, you will eventually forget who you are.
You will be a shadow of what you used to be. You will be only motivated by success. There are some things more important, like your health and your family’s health. To maintain your health on a high level, you have to not let the stress get you too often.
The mistake that the beginners make is to research a lot for a subject and to forget to insert some personal opinions into the story, so that they could make the article more readable, if I am allowed to say this.
Another mistake is to not let other people help you. When you receive a comment by someone telling you that your style is witty and you should change it or adapt it to the blog’s needs, try to take that in consideration, because what that person wants is the development of your own as a writer. There are people who know more than you and you should listen to them. Simply by reading this article, you can learn some things. You can learn from everywhere. Just open your mind, as I said before, and let the information to get their way into your head.
You should start promoting your blog on Facebook, Twitter and other networks after you managed to launch it. Not before. There are persons that promote their site long before the site was launched just to make an opinion about the popularity of the future site. You have probably heard or even seen pages that are very well promoted and when you enter the page, you will find something that says: “Under Construction”. This means that the page is not ready yet, not even an index page, just a page that says the whole site is under construction. Well, when the site will be ready, we won’t check this out. And there are other sites, which besides the “Under Construction” expression, you can add you e-mail address to be announced when the site opens. I have never inserted my address in a box like this. If I like the site and I know about which subjects the site will discuss, I will enter regularly on that address and I will see with my eyes if the site is ready or not. How am I supposed to know if the site will ever be released and my e-mail address will not reach on bad people’s hands.
If you know in which category a site can be included, you can enter the site from time to time to see if it is ready. You can also bookmark it, but don’t provide them your e-mail address. If you still think that this is the easiest way, instead of entering the site on a regular basis, please provide a secondary e-mail address, not your main address.
