Bad Company 2 – Destroying M-com buildings

You can destroy an M-com by destroying the building where the M-com is placed. With the building collapses, it destroys the containing M-com.

General rules for a collapsible buildings or non collapsible buildings:

-          Buildings with a diagonal roof that look almost like a residential building will collapse;

-          Buildings with flat roofs normally don’t collapse, but there are exceptions;

-          Buildings with flat roofs and metal supports on the corners won’t collapse;

-          Steel reinforced buildings won’t collapse;

-          Large buildings with flat roof won’t collapse.

Ways to destroy buildings:

1. Probably the easiest way to destroy a building is at range with a tank firing shells right at the building. Try having an engineer along to repair the eventual tank damage done by the other squads.

2. The next best way is at distance with rockets from an RPG. It is recommended to have a full 4 member squad. 2 guys with RPGs that fly straight, one medic to revive the possible casualties, because there are always snipers and the last guy as an assault to provide ammo boxes for a constant supply of rockets.

3. Destroying 70% of the external walls of a building will lead to collapse. The roofs and vertical walls are irrelevant for the collapsing process.

4. Mortar strikes will take out the vertical walls and have the great advantage that they can be called in from a great distance

5. Mines will destroy the external walls. You can set them up in a chain reaction style, one destroying the next and so on until they all blow up. Just throw a grenade to set them off, or if you play as an engineer you may as well fire a rocket from a distance into the building, it’s actually more effective this way than throwing a grenade from close by.

6. The assault 40 mm grenades can also be used on buildings. Aim and shoot at the corners of the buildings, this way you can take out 2 walls in one shot. If you shoot at the wooden shutters from the window the shutters will get destroyed, but the walls won’t.

7. Using C4 is another good and fun way to destroy a building. When you want to use C4, get inside the building and place the C4 high up on the wall, get out and detonate it. If the buildings have 2 floors, the C4 will destroy the external walls for both floors obtaining maximum damage because of the high position of the C4 on the wall. C4 is by far the best way to take down a building. With the extra pouch unlocked, you can carry 6 C4. Place the C4 high up on the walls in the corners and try placing them on all the different corners of the building if possible. There is a very good chance that the building will get destroyed in one go with all the C4 in place, or at least it will take it very close to the full destruction point.
