Asus Lamborghini VX6 close to launch

While at their base, all laptops and netbooks do just about the same thing, regardless of their branding, it’s easy to tell, for technology enthusiasts, what brand a certain laptop is even without seeing a logo or name stamped on the device. How can someone do that, you may ask? Well, it’s simple. Take Apple for example. The company always makes use of a minimalistic design and exceptionally high quality materials and it’s easy to spot an Apple laptop anywhere. While they’re expensive, they also offer a high level of quality. Another company you may say the same about (at least a part of the products anyway) is Asus. Asus has so far released the Bamboo laptops which look great and are an amazing addition for any person who loves wood and would be interested in matching a laptop to a certain house design. Also a part of the company’s laptop lineup is the line of Lamborghini branded laptops, dedicated to car enthusiasts and several other people who are looking for a laptop with a spectacular design.

At this time, the world is gearing up for the year of the tablet computer. Without a question in 2011 the tablet computer should become the most popular type of portable computer on the market, thus finally ending the netbook trend. Still, this isn’t stopping most manufacturers from releasing new netbooks and upgrading existing ones. A couple of months ago, at Computex, Asus unveiled its latest netbook, the Lamborghini VX6. Unlike most netbooks currently available on the market, the VX6 definitely doesn’t look cheap, or toy-like or underpowered. In fact, the first time you set your eyes on it, it looks like a full-size high-performance laptop.

Satisfying your need for speed, the Asus Lamborghini VX6 is also better equipped than most of the netbooks you’ll find on the market. It was announced along with the Asus Lamborghini VX7 and described as “Offering incredible visuals with the NVIDIA ION graphics platform and 512MB VRAM, and outstanding audio designed by Bang & Olufsen ICEpower”. The netbook will feature a 12.1 inch screen with a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, an Intel Atom D525 dual-core CPU with a clock speed of 1.83 GHz, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and an Nvidia Ion 2 GPU. Asus was among the first to launch laptops with USB 3.0, the new and faster standard, onboard. This netbook too will include USB 3.0 on top of the usual connectivity including Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth.

A while back when the netbook was announced, the mother company didn’t bother to give a specific launch date for it. But as Softpedia has discovered, Asus has posted a manual for the Lamborghini VX6 which might be a clear indicator that the launch date of the small laptop is drawing near. As soon as the VX6 hits the market, consumers will be able to purchase this high quality product with a stylish casing for about $699.
