Although a single player game, you must have a permanent connection to the Internet to play Assassin’s Creed II, for reasons of copyright. If you read this article, you do have a connection to the Internet, so the problem is solved. Ubisoft chose a rather odd way to protect their new products, and the buyers did not give the expected response, as it was logical. Moreover, criticism has been reinforced when the game servers have been dropped for a few hours. Of course, those who had pirated the game make all the users that play this game to suffer from this problem.
But let’s return to the game itself, which is pretty good overall. The PC version was released only in March 2010, although the Xbox 360 and PS3 support it since November 2009.
The minimum requirements are: CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz or 2.4 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2, memory: 1.5 GB for Windows XP and 2 GB for Vista and Windows 7, space occupied on hard: 8 GB, video card: 256 MB DirectX 9.0 and uninterrupted Internet connection of 128 kbps.
Assassin’s Creed II action begins in 2012 and has as main character Desmond, who is a subject to laboratory tests. Using the device Animus v2.0, Desmond get in touch using his mind with one of his distant relatives, who lived in Renaissance in Florence to be precise. This connection is Ezio Auditore, an assassin who transferred all his powers and his knowledge to Desmond to make him start looking for pieces of artifacts: “Pieces of Eden”.
Further, the action is seen through the eyes of Ezio and carries you in Venice and Rome. There will be many crimes, climbing on buildings and you’ll find many clues to accomplish your mission. Among those who offer help are included Niccolo Machiavelli and Leonardo DaVinci. The graphics quality will convince you to play the game and the story guarantees 20 hours spent in front of the computer, if the servers from Ubisoft don’t break down.
