Facebook has been recently infested by a virus which sends offensive materials in news feeds and in private messages. The Facebook users have recently reported that the news feeds and the private messages they received contained explicit hardcore porn images, violent images, photo-shopped images of celebrities having sex, and a picture with an abused dog.
It seems that the users who got infected with the virus have no idea about it. They do not know when they send these links, and they cannot see what they have posted, even if they look at their inbox. It seems that the people who have this virus cannot see the things which are posted by the virus on their wall, even though the other users can see them. This makes things even more complicated, as the unsuspecting users might click on the link, and as a result they will get infected with the virus as well. Some of the people were completely outraged by the images posted on the famous media website.

There were even pictures depicting Jesus in sexually circumstances, and that shocked and raged the people. Numerous people have closed the accounts being dissatisfied by the pictures which were present on the website, and also by the manner in which the website handled the problem. It seems that even the actors started to had enough of it. One of them is Courtney Zito, who said that her inbox is full of these links and images, and that she intends to deactivate her account.
The online security company Sophos, stated that it doesn’t know just how the virus managed to get in the website. A spokesperson stated that it is most likely through a clever spam method. The people might have clicked some unsuspecting links, or they might have been redirected on a certain website, and that started everything. The spokesperson also stated that the scheme managed to outrage numerous Facebook users, especially since the website was considered to be family oriented. There are many who no longer want to visit the website because they are afraid that they might encounter the graphic images once again.

It seems that Anonymous planned for this for a very long time now. They even sent a video on YouTube prior to the attack, describing the way in which the virus works. It seems that the virus is a worm which once it infested a user, it sends links to all the users from the friend list even if the user is not logged in. Facebook did not release an official statement regarding the recent events.
