Alchemy is a puzzle game which can be played on Yahoo Games. The purpose of the game is to transform the runes into gold. At the beginning of the game, it is recommended to play a tutorial just to make sure that you understand the rules of the game. You are asked to place a symbol on the board that you see at the beginning of the game. Don’t place the board in the middle of the screen, because there is another rune. You have to place the symbol next to the rune somewhere.
After you place the first rune, you may click the Next button. In the second phase of the tutorial, you will have to place other runes, which contain mathematical symbols, such as Pi. Each rune has to be attached to other rune which has the same color ot the same symbol or both. When you do something wrong, the computer will let you know. Ok, now let’s move on to the third phase of the tutorial.
This new level brings an entire row of runes and a new rune fow which you have to find a place on the board. If you manage to complete an entire row or column, you can consider yourself lucky, because the runes will disappear, letting you more room to work on the board. If you manage to complete the row, tell me all about it. The game is not hard and it doesn’t require special skills. This is definitely a game that I would play over and over again.
The level of which I just mentioned was very easy simply because all you had to do was to place the rune that was given by the game next to the last rune of the row, because the row needed one more rune to be completed. The tricky thing here was that the request was to complete an entire row or column, so you had to think of creating a new row or column. Luckily for you, you can see that the new rune which is given to you by the game has the blue color and also the last three runes in the almost completed row have the same color. So, only by looking at the color of the runes here, you can realise that you can place the given rune in addition to the last rune, thus completing a row. The game doesn’t say what row you should complete, so it is alright to attach the new rune to this formed row.
There can be situations in which you cannot place a rune on the board. In this case, the game doesn’t end, because you may select the option of discarding the rune. Choose Discard in the left panel and you will get rid of the rune. You have this option only three times in a round. When you will discard the fourth rune, the game will be over. Keep your eyes on the Forge, because this is telling you how much time do you have at your disposal.
You may benefit of grey stones, which the game considers to be wild cards. Do you know the other name of the wild card? It is about Jack or Joker in Europe. This card can be placed next to any rune in the game. In the end, you have to mind the skulls, which destroy the rune on which they are placed. This trick can work for you or against you.
The game has three levels of difficulty, each of the levels with a higher or lower number of colors and symbols. If you are a beginner in this game, I advice you to start first with the easiest level and then slowly to move to other levels, if you consider that you are ready for them.
