Acer’s latest predator free in Canada

Acer has become the world’ second largest vendor in the PC market. This doesn’t surprise anyone and their latest achievement, a gaming desktop from the Predator line really proves the company’s worth. The new Acer Aspire Predator AG7750 was just launched on the market in Canada and it brings a truly killer blend between performance and looks. So let’s move on and see what the fuss is all about. Well, first off, it’s often said that a picture is worth a thousand words, and the picture below stands by this rule.

With a starting price of $1999, the Aspire Predator AG7750 comes equipped with an Intel Core i7-930 processor, 12GB SDRAM, NVidia GTX 470 graphics and much more. The 9GB of DDR3 RAM doesn’t sound bad either and hardcore gamers will be pleased to know that it can be expanded to 12GB.

“Designed to conquer and destroy, the Aspire Predator boasts a rugged, intimidating chassis as well as super power and speed,” said Susan Hu, retail desktop product management for Acer Canada. “It’s a smoking hot gaming rig delivering eye-popping graphics and dynamic audio for a jaw dropping experience that will fire up even hard core gamers. Plus, plenty of room for future upgrades will assist gamers in their quest to reign supreme in the new world order.”

So what about the hard drive? An initial 1TB internal SATA hard drive should be more than enough for most gamers out there. Still, in case more is needed, there are three additional easy-swap hard disk drive cages that allow the user to add up to a total of four SATA drives which would boost the overall storage capacity to 8TB. Obviously all the data you get to store on those hard drives can also be transported by simply removing the hardware.

If the performance wasn’t impressive enough, the design is definitely something different, even for a gaming desktop. We’ve seen some pretty good designs from Alienware and other companies dedicated to building gaming desktops throughout the years. Still, the bright orange contrasting with the black on the Predator AG7750 makes the computer look like it actually does come from one of the newest gaming titles you’re playing. A mechanized front cover can be raised up and over the front of the chassis. It provides easy access to a memory card reader, the USB and the audio ports. There’s also nothing to compliment a Predator-like desktop computer like a optical disk drive that looks like a claw.

While it’s true that you could probably build your own, with the same components, for a slightly lower sum of money, it’s also true that some gamers just want to buy it readymade and greatly enjoy holding a computer on the desk that actually looks made for gaming. After all, this is the reason why Alienware still exists and sells desktops.
