“Civilization Revolution”
The king of iPad games this week is “Civilization Revolution” released by 2K Games. If you take a look to the trailer, you will recognize from somewhere this game. Sid Meier, its mane producers, is the same person that designed the “Civilizations” series for Microsoft.
Don`t expect to find essential differences between the game what you used to play on your PC and this new release for iPad. In fact, history doesn`t change, producers can stress a certain historic personality for PC and another one for the iPad, but the mechanism is still the same: you have to be a political or religious leader and to raise a nation.
Probably the familiarity of the plot made the game so appreciated and sold as hot cakes even for iPad. There`s also the advantage of commodity, you can`t take everywhere your PC or you can`t open everywhere your laptop, while an iPad is ready for action anytime you please. Technically, while playing the game on a PC, you will need a mouse, while on iPad, two of your fingers will two the magic, by pressing the control keys.
“Civilization Revolution” can be reckoned as a game perfect for killing your time, if you play 10 minutes and then you are back to your business. But, in essence, “Civilization Revolution” is solid game to be played at least an hour, it`s not that easy to build a nation from Stone Age to Space Age. Choose your historic figure to lead your people and then be ready to embrace the progress and Time itself. As you progress, animated advisers will be at your disposal, in order to make more diplomat and to render you updated with the scientific development. Comparing to similar games regarding mankind`s evolution, on “Civilization Revolution” you can step out of the crowd, either through economic achievement or supplementary cultural growth and technological advancement.
The version released for iPad costs almost 13$ and will occupy 126 MB and promise you to fix any crash and to offer improved interface.
Although Sid Meier and 2K Games invested soul and money into this game, it looks that players aren`t that satisfied about the iPad version. It seems that the most annoying fact about “Civilization Revolution” are the permanent crashes. It looks that the game has bugs while opening the tech tree, while trying to save it or to enter a battle. The positive facts appreciated are the bigger screen and image and the faster feedback of the keys.
This is a sign for 2K Games to solve out as quickly the troubles, otherwise the game could lose ground and as far as we could see in the previous articles, there are powerful rivals willing to be number one.
